Muscle
fitness – it’s never late to begin
Muscle never turns into fat and fat never turns into muscle.
Before you think about muscle fitness, cut down your flab. Good
news! Studies show that even people in their 70's can improve
both muscle endurance and strength with muscle fitness programs
done 3 days a week. But what you want is choose the right
equipment and right kind of exercises.
Of course, women don’t usually develop large bulky muscles as
men, when they do strength training. But don’t think that they
will not achieve muscle fitness. They gain strength at the same
rate as men. However, the reason for the above discrepancy is
the hormone differences among men and women. In fact muscle
takes up less space than fat. By training for muscle endurance
and strength, women too can achieve muscle fitness.
Strength, is the term used to describe the ability of the muscle
or muscle group to exert maximum force. Endurance is the ability
to do repeat work and the power is the rate of doing work.
Gaining muscle fitness means improving the above three factors.
For achieving muscle fitness a suggested order of exercises is
there, which engages muscle at upper legs and hips, chest and
upper arms, back and posterior legs, lower legs and ankles,
shoulders and posterior upper arms, abdomen, and anterior upper
arms, in that order.
Circuit Training program which combines leg press, chest press,
bench step, abdominal crunches, shoulder press, jumping rope,
lat pulls, tricep extensions, running in place for minute a hard
pace, biceps curls, quadriceps (knee) extensions, and hamstring
curls (leg curls) is usually taken up fin a muscle fitness
regime. There are advanced programs for improving the muscle
strength and endurance more. There are many different pieces of
equipment such as benches, multi-gyms, power racks and smith
machines that can be used to keep your muscles fit.
